Artisan hands engraving a brass vessel

The Craft

Patience, made visible

Our Process

Four hands, one object

Behind every Kaprio piece is a sequence of unhurried, human steps. Machines rush; hands consider. This is why our objects feel different — because they were made differently.

01

Sourcing

We begin with honest, natural materials — recycled brass, river clay, sustainably harvested wood — chosen for character and longevity.

02

Shaping

Raised, thrown, cast or carved entirely by hand. No two pieces begin quite the same, and that is exactly the point.

03

Detailing

Fine engraving, inlay and motifs are added with tools and techniques handed down across generations.

04

Finishing

Each piece is polished, patinated and inspected by the artisan before it earns the Kaprio mark.

Keeping the craft alive

Many of the techniques we rely on are held by only a handful of families. By committing to fair, consistent work, we help ensure the next generation has a reason — and a livelihood — to keep the craft going. Every purchase is a vote for the handmade.
